Setup Guide

Here's how to go from your pattern and fabric stash to a finished preview in a few minutes. Everything works from your phone or computer.
1. Sign in
Make a free account on the sign-in page. Every account starts with 3 free previews.
2. Snap a picture of your pattern
- Lay the pattern cover or block diagram flat in good, even light — daylight near a window is best.
- Hold your phone straight above it so the whole design fits in the frame.
- Avoid shadows and glare. Phone photos (including iPhone HEIC photos) work fine.
3. Snap a picture of your stash
- Take one picture per fabric. Fold each piece so a flat area about the size of your hand shows.
- Include enough of the print that the pattern and scale are clear.
- Use the same light for every fabric so colors compare fairly.
- Add fabrics in the order you'd like them numbered — Fabric 1, Fabric 2, and so on.
4. See your quilt
- In the Studio, add your pattern and fabrics, pick a style and a quilting stitch, then tap to make your preview.
- It usually takes under a minute. Only finished previews count toward your total.
- Every preview is saved to your Library automatically.
5. Swap your fabric versions
- Tap Edit on any preview and say what to change, for example: "Put Fabric 3 in all the large squares."
- You can also change just the quilting stitch, or upload a picture of your own stitch design.
- Your original stays in your Library so you can compare.
Tips for the best results
- Fewer, clearer photos beat many blurry ones.
- Previews are an artist's impression — always follow your actual pattern when cutting.
